Battery of the Mitsubishi I-Miev version : 16 kWh

Mitsubishi i-MiEV is equipped with lithium-ion batteries that use nickel, manganese and cobalt (NMC) cathodes. The batteries are assembled into modules that are then connected to form a complete battery. The number of modules varies depending on the battery capacity.

The 16 kWh battery of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV consists of 88 lithium-ion cells, and offers a voltage rating of 330 volts. Each cell has a capacity of 50 Ah and a nominal voltage of 3.75 volts. The battery weighs about 200 kg. The battery has a forced air cooling system to prevent overheating during high charge and discharge rates and consequent damage. There is a fan built into the battery.

The Mitsubishi i-MiEV has been equipped with an improved charging system, which allows charging the battery up to 50 kW in alternating current (AC), allowing up to 80% of the battery charge to be recovered in about 30 minutes.
