In May 2018, the manufacturer announced an electric version of its Kia Niro SUV. Marketed in France at the end of 2018, the e-Niro electric takes over the base of the classic Niro. It differs from the thermal versions thanks to a full grille and some details on the body. On the technical side, the e-niro is closer to the Hyundai Kona electric.

The e-Niro electric is available in two battery versions:

– The 39.2 kWh with a powertrain limited to 100 kW or 136 horsepower.

– The second in 64 kWh has a more powerful engine of 150 kW or about 200 horsepower.

The electric Kia e-niro is equipped with a 39 kWh polymer lithium-ion battery. This battery consists of 192 lithium-ion cells, divided into eight modules. Each cell has a capacity of 60 Ah and a nominal voltage of 3.75 volts. The battery weighs about 327 kg.

The battery voltage rating is 327 volts and is capable of providing a maximum power of 100 kW. The e-niro equipped with this battery has an official range of 289 km according to the WLTP certification cycle.

The 39 kWh e-niro battery is compatible with the 100 kW CCS Combo fast chargers, allowing you to recover up to 80% of the battery charge in about 42 minutes.

The electric Kia e-niro is equipped with a lithium-ion polymer battery with a capacity of 64 kWh. This battery consists of 294 lithium-ion cells, divided into twelve modules. Each cell has a capacity of 60 Ah and a nominal voltage of 3.75 volts. The battery weighs about 457 kg.

The nominal battery voltage is 356 volts and it is capable of providing a maximum power of 150 kW. The e-niro equipped with this battery has an official range of 455 km according to the WLTP certification cycle.

The 64 kWh e-niro battery is compatible with the 100 kW CCS Combo fast chargers, allowing you to recover up to 80% of the battery charge in about 42 minutes.
