The DS4 E-Tense is a top-of-the-range compact plug-in hybrid car.

Disappeared in 2018, the compact top-of-the-range car has been replaced in 2021 by a new E-Tense plug-in hybrid version. In terms of its design and dimensions, the DS4 E-Tense is built on the EMP2 platform, more specifically the third version shared with the third-generation Peugeot 308.

With a tall silhouette and large wheels that accentuate aerodynamics, the DS4 seeks to stand out from the crowd and is inspired by the Aero Sport Lounge concept. In terms of size, the DS car measures 4.4 metres in length, 1.87 metres in width (2.06 metres with mirrors) and 1.47 metres in height. In electric mode, it offers a range of up to 55 km.

Under the bonnet, the E-Tense version benefits from the system used in the DS 7 Crossback, with a 180 bhp 1.6 Puretech petrol engine combined with an 81 kW (110 bhp) electric motor. Together, these engines give the French compact car 225 bhp and 360 Nm of torque. It has a top speed of 233 km/h and a 0-100 km/h time of 7.7 seconds.

Battery of the DS DS4 version : e-tense

The lithium-ion battery on board the DS4 E-Tense is supplied by manufacturer CATL and has a total capacity of 12.4 kWh.

Using a Type 2 connector, it is fully recharged with a maximum power of 7.4 kW in alternating current (AC), providing a full charge in 1 hour and 55 minutes.
