The Citroën C5 Aicross is the brand’s first plug-in hybrid with herringbone. Equipped with a powertrain of more than 200 horsepower, it announces more than 50 kilometers of range in electric mode.

This model is based on the EMP2 PSA platform and therefore uses the same powertrain as the Opel Grandland X and Peugeot 3008 plug-in hybrids. Only available in two-wheel drive version «Hybrid 225», it combines a 180 hp (132 kW) PureTech gasoline block with a 110 hp and 320 Nm electric motor. The maximum output is 225 horsepower (165 kW) and 360 Nm.

Battery of the Citroën C5 version : 13,2 kWh

As with other PSA models, the battery is supplied by the South Korean group LG Chem. With a total capacity of 13.2 kWh, it allows up to 50 kilometres of range in the WLTP cycle. This battery is guaranteed 8 years or 160.000 km for 70% of its charging capacity.

On the charging side, the C5 plug-in hybrid comes standard with a 3.7 kW charger and can be equipped with an optional 7.4 kW charger.

The charging times are as follows:

– Less than 2 h on 32A Wall Box, with optional 7.4 kW charger

– 4 hours on Green’up™ Legrand 14 A plug with 3.7 kW serial charger

– 7 h on standard 8 A domestic outlet, with 3.7 kW charger
