The BMW i3s is the sporty version of the German brand’s famous electric car. Launched in 2017, it boasts enhanced performance compared with the standard BMW i3.
The BMW i3s is a top-of-the-range electric car designed with sustainable production in mind. The brand has implemented environmentally-friendly construction processes, with the use of recycled parts and reduced energy consumption.
The BMW i3s is available in a single version: 120 Ah.
The BMW i3s 120 Ah is equipped with a lithium-ion battery based on nickel, cobalt and aluminum (NCA), and is assembled in modules which are then connected to form a complete battery. The battery weighs around 450 kg and has a nominal voltage of 353 volts.
To recharge the vehicle’s battery, the car includes a fast-charging system, enabling the battery to be recharged at up to 50 kW direct current (DC), recovering up to 80% of the battery’s charge in around 45 minutes.
In slow charge mode, the battery can be charged to a maximum of 11 kW in alternating current (AC), allowing up to 100% of the battery charge to be recovered in around 3 hours and 15 minutes.
